‘Exercise genes,’ ‘lazy genes’ may exist

According to the U.S. scientists, there are certain genes such as 'exercise genes' and 'lazy genes' that may lead people to exercise. Researchers carried out an experiment to observe how much each rats in cage ran on the wheels. After that, 'fast runners' and 'slow runners' were bred and it was claimed that more than 30 genes of the following generations may play a role in motivating exercise. This was done through comparing the levels of mitochondria in muscle cells and body compositions.

I believe that this research would be the first step to identify other causes for obesity as obesity is a worldwide issue. Actually, this article was quite shocking to me. This is because I thought that doing exercise or not is determined by one's willingness. Although I think this research is amazing and can give hopes to people, I am afraid that it may be abused. For example, there might be one day when every single person has genes that make people willing to exercise. I think the issues related to genes have both advantages and disadvantages.
